As hinted at in the previous post, the English fencing systems are lesser known. Why is that? and same question applies to English style armour. Even Anglo-Saxons are snubbed in many ways.
In regards to fencing texts, military sabre of the 19th century and George Silver are quite well known. If that's the case, why talk about these texts? There are two reasons. First, George Silver is actually best known for his xenophobia. Second, the earlier texts are unpopular as they are few (only 3) and they lack pictures and have weird wording.
English armour is actually gaining popularity thanks to Dr. Tobias Capwell and his book Armour of the English Knight 1400-1450 . Even though he has contributed a ton to the knowledge base, there is only one hurdle to its widespread use: lack of surviving examples. As far as I know, there is only a sallet and fragments.
The Anglo-Saxons are snubbed because of the mass appeal of the vikings. This is also because of the lack of information as it was the Dark Ages.
