Part 2 of this series is about protective equipment.

Renaissance: this is when protective gear starts to appear. Leather padded aprons were used as well as leather hoof gauntlets like the Sparring Gloves and Neyman.


Enlightenment: Fencing masks made of wicker began to appear very late. They also used padded gloves similar to modern Koning gloves.



Victorian era: masks got stronger, gloves add a cuff, and lightly padded jackets were added with the aprons.
